Privacy Policy
How The Patrick School collects, uses and protects information submitted through this website.
The Patrick School Inc. ("The Patrick School," "we," "us") is a non-denominational private school and a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization in Princeton Junction, New Jersey. This policy explains what we collect through this website, why we collect it, who we share it with, and what you can ask us to do about it.
This policy covers this website only. Information you give the school in person, by phone, by mail, or through a separate service the school uses is handled under the school's own records practices, which are not described here.
1What we collect
Information you give us
We only receive personal information from this website when you choose to send it. There are four places you can do that.
| Where | What it collects |
|---|---|
| Application for Admission on the New Students and Returning Students pages |
Student name, date of birth, place of birth, country of citizenship, native language, current grade and grade applied for, current school and its address and phone, the student's own email and mobile number if provided, whether the student is reclassifying, whether the applicant is domestic or international, athletic participation details, and the family information the form asks for: parent and guardian names, relationship, email addresses, home, mobile and work phone numbers, home and business addresses, employer and job title, who the student lives with, other children in the family, whether you intend to apply for financial assistance, responses to the school's conduct and discipline questions, and the name and date entered on the certification at the end of the form. |
| Inquiry forms on the Contact, Alumni and Hybrid Pathway pages |
Your name, phone number, email address and the message you write. |
| Gift form on the Donate page |
Your name, email address, phone number, the gift amount and frequency you indicate, the fund you select, any tribute name, and any note you add. This form does not collect card or bank account numbers. |
| Document upload | Student name, the name and email of the parent or guardian sending the documents, and the files you attach, which typically include transcripts and school records. |
We never ask for payment card numbers on this website. No page on this site collects a card number, bank account number, or Social Security number, and no page processes a payment. If you ever see a page on thepatrickschool.org asking for a card number, do not enter it, and please call us at (800) 354-6073.
Information collected automatically
Like most websites, this site records basic technical information when you visit: your IP address, the type of browser and device you are using, the pages you view, and the site you arrived from. This comes from our hosting and security provider and, once it is enabled, from our website analytics. We use it to keep the site available, to defend against abuse, and to understand which pages families find useful. We do not use it to build an advertising profile of you, and we do not sell it.
What the application does on your own device
The Application for Admission produces a PDF copy of your application. That PDF is generated inside your own browser and is attached to your submission and offered to you as a download. It is not created on, or stored by, any third-party document service.
2How we use it
- To review applications and communicate with families about admission, enrollment, interviews, tours and next steps.
- To answer the questions you send us.
- To follow up on a gift, issue an acknowledgment letter, and keep required donation records.
- To match documents you send to the correct student file.
- To operate, secure and improve the website.
- To meet the school's legal, accreditation and record-keeping obligations.
We do not sell personal information, we do not rent or trade mailing lists, and we do not use the information you submit to target advertising to you.
3Who we share it with
We share personal information with the service providers that make this website work, and only so they can perform that service for us. We do not authorize them to use it for their own purposes.
| Provider | What it handles |
|---|---|
| Formspree | Delivers submissions from the Application for Admission and the document upload to the Admissions Office. |
| WebPro360 | Builds and maintains this website and routes inquiry and gift-form submissions to the school. |
| Cloudflare | Hosting delivery, website security, and obscuring email addresses on the site from address-harvesting bots. |
| Email for the school's staff, and website analytics and search performance reporting. | |
| Slack | Notifies the school and WebPro360 that a submission has arrived. |
| Map and video providers | The map on the Contact page loads map images from OpenStreetMap and CARTO. Video on this site is embedded from YouTube in its no-cookie mode. |
| Google Fonts | Supplies typefaces used by the application form. |
We may also disclose information when the law requires it, when we must protect the safety of a student or another person, or in connection with an accreditation, audit or legal process. If the school ever transfers its operations, student and family records would transfer under the same protections described here.
4Students and children
The Patrick School serves grades 6 through 12 and post-graduate students, so some applicants are under 13 years old.
- Applications must be completed and submitted by a parent or legal guardian. The certification at the end of the Application for Admission is a parent or guardian certification.
- We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from a child under 13 through this website without a parent or guardian submitting it.
- Information about a student, including responses to the conduct and discipline questions on the application, is treated as confidential and is shared inside the school only with the people who need it to evaluate the application or support the student.
- If you believe a child has submitted information to us without a parent or guardian, contact us at [email protected] and we will delete it.
Once a student enrolls, their records are handled under the school's student records practices rather than this website policy. A parent or guardian may ask the school to review the student's record.
5Cookies and analytics
This site uses very few cookies. Our security provider may set a cookie to tell real visitors apart from automated traffic. Our website analytics sets cookies that help us count visits and see which pages are used, and we have configured it for measurement rather than advertising. There are no advertising or retargeting cookies on this site.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. The site will still work, though the application form works best with JavaScript enabled. Most browsers also offer a "Do Not Track" signal; there is no agreed standard for how sites should respond to it, so we do not change our behavior based on it, and we do not track you across other websites regardless.
6How long we keep it
- Applications are kept for the admissions cycle they belong to and for a reasonable period afterward. If the student enrolls, the application becomes part of the student's school record.
- Inquiries are kept while we are in contact with you and for a reasonable period afterward.
- Gift records are kept as long as the law requires a non-profit to keep donation records.
- Technical and analytics data is kept for a limited period in an aggregated form.
You may ask us to delete information about you sooner. See Your choices and requests.
7How we protect it
The whole site is served over an encrypted connection, submissions travel encrypted to our providers, and access to submissions inside the school is limited to the staff who need it. No website can promise perfect security, and we will not pretend otherwise. What we can promise is that we do not ask this site to hold information it does not need: there are no card numbers, no bank details, and no login accounts on thepatrickschool.org.
8Your choices and requests
You can ask us to:
- tell you what information we hold about you or your student,
- correct anything that is wrong,
- delete information we no longer need to keep, or
- stop contacting you.
Email [email protected] or call (800) 354-6073. We may need to confirm your identity, and your relationship to the student, before we act on a request. Some records we are required to keep, and we will tell you if that applies.
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under your state or country's privacy law. We apply the choices above to everyone who asks, wherever you are.
9Links to other sites
This site links to services the school uses that are operated by other organizations, and to social media accounts. Once you follow one of those links you are on someone else's site, under their privacy policy, not this one. Please read theirs before submitting information.
10Changes to this policy
If we change this policy we will update the effective date at the top of the page. If a change materially affects how we handle information families have already given us, we will say so clearly rather than quietly revise the text.
